Far East Merchant – Buy it from trader. Scholar Costumer – Return lost books. Treasure Hunter Costume – Return Dervis Artifacts.
Basims outfit in valhalla got a different animation set, maybe altairs does too. I just hope we get proper cloth physics on the legacy outfits and maybe hopefully, their "year one" plan, if they don't have any, is to give us all the legacy outfits possible over time (1 a month if my calculations are correct 🤓)
They are just there for vanity/cosmetic reasons, and if you don't like the way they look, no one is forcing you to wear them. The in-universe explanation for Legacy outfits is that the Animus/Helix makes it possible to wear the clothes of Assassins from different eras -- in Rogue, they straight up tell the player that Shay can use Arno's weapons because they are "made available through Helix".
